Why do I need to make a will?

• By making a Will you will ensure that your estate will go to the people you want to benefit after your death.
• If you die without a Will, the laws of intestacy dictate how your estate should be allocated. For example your spouse may not automatically
  inherit your property or your children may not be provided for as you wish.
• For peace of mind ensure that arrangements are in place for your children if one or both parents die.
• Unmarried partners and partners who have not registered as a civil partnership will not inherit from each other under the intestacy rules.
• In obtaining specialist advice from a solicitor and upon drafting a will, it may be possible to reduce the amount of tax payable on inheritance.
